Ross A. Unruh, a founding member of Unruh Turner Burke & Frees, retired from the firm after practicing law for more than fifty years. During his long spanning career, Ross focused his practice in the areas of land use, municipal, and school law. He represented land developers and land owner applicants, townships, zoning hearing boards, and municipal authorities.
Ross played a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s values, vision and reputation. He earned widespread respect for his deep knowledge, integrity, and unwavering dedication to clients and colleagues alike. Throughout his distinguished career, Ross guided the firm through decades of growth and evolution, serving as both a trusted advisor and a mentor to generations of attorneys. His leadership helped establish Unruh Turner Burke & Frees as a respected institution within the legal community.
Named a “Top Lawyer” by Main Line Today magazine, Ross received a preeminent “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbel, recognizing his superior legal ability as judged by his peers. In addition, Ross has been selected for inclusion in the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers list continuously since 2015, and has been recognized by Best Lawyers for his work in Land Use and Zoning Law annually since 2018.
Now serving as Partner Emeritus, Ross continues to be a valued part of the firm’s legacy.
